One of my first tasks on Tomorrowland was to create a computer model of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències

(City for Arts and Sciences) in Valencia, Spain.

I was given only a rough computer model and the original plans

from Calatrava’s architectural offices (which were in metric).

I was assigned the near-impossible task of tiling the interior of a sphere for the “Oracle” set.

I achieved this using the Fibonacci Sequence, a pattern similar to the seeds in a sunflower.

In the end, all the set designers were asked to produce as many background buildings as possible for the futuristic city itself.
