About Ricardo

Ricardo Spinacè was born in Argentina and raised in Italy.

When his family moved to Toronto, Canada, he attended OCAD University (Ontario College of Art) in Toronto, Canada where he studied fine art and graphic design.

He began his film career as an apprentice scenic artist at CBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, while still in high school. He joined Nelvana animation studios in Toronto, where he became a head layout artist for many of the company’s animated series and where he honed his skills as a Storyboard Artist, Graphic Designer and Art Director.

He moved to Vancouver, Canada in 1989, where he works as a Production Designer in Film and Television.

He has worked as a production designer, art director and scenic artist in Canada, Mexico, Europe and the US.

Ricardo speaks fluent Spanish, Italian and French and is now learning Greek. Why? Because he thinks it’s a bad ass, important language.

When not working in film and television, Ricardo continues his journey as a painter and sculptor in his studios in Vancouver and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

He is currently writing a memoir about growing up in Argentina and Italy.
